Electrical inspection failed today for a ground and a 50 amp hot tub wire, should all be fixed tomorrow. Siding is working it's way around the house and is looking great. This is the point where everyone tells me it feels like it slows down.

OK, it's been a few days since I posted. There has been more important things happening then this house.

This might be the most I type in any post, so here is what has happen over the last few days.

Lots of little wrap up things are getting done. Interior framing, roof, stairs, pony walls and other stuff. Windows were delivered and installed. Water and gas lines ditches are dug. Plumber and cabinet guy were out. Roofing was delivered today. I'm sure there is much more, things are moving fast.

Walls are going up. Lots of steelwork and lots of forms. Extra forms since the daylight basement walls are nine feet tall and the forms are eight feet. They worked in the rain, lots of rain.... It rained 1.2 inches from noon till six today. Trying for an inspection on Friday and cement on Monday or Tuesday.

Update 11-08-08:

Inspector has been out and the walls will be poured on Monday.

It's permanent now. 5 or 6 trucks of cement later and the footings are in. Tomorrow the forms for the wall will show up. I'm told this will go quick.

Almost there. Lost three hours today when a hydraulic hose broke. I'll put in a gate this weekend to keep the honest people out. My builder will be back at it next week. What better time to pull the RV down by the barn and have a nice camp fire this weekend.

Janette and I started the process to build our house in 2006. OK, not build but paperwork.

- Survey the land
- Clear the trees
- Septic design
- House plans
- Finding a builder
- Clearing the title
- Getting a loan

All sounds easy but there is a long story behind everything that has been done so far. I'm sure that the actual building of the house will be the easy part.

On Thursday October 16th, our builder plans on turning dirt and starting the build process. With any luck we should be moving in at the first of next year.
